Korean cosmetic manufacturers seem to be broadly divided into three categories.

1. A case where a traditional cosmetics factory produces and distributes its own brand

2. Manufacturing as an OEM (ODE) using capital pooled through a fund

3. Cases where a small business is started based on an individual's ideas and experience

Each of the above cases has its own characteristics, and the business methods of each company differ depending on these characteristics.

Also, due to differences in business practices from country to country, I often feel uneasy about communicating with the people in charge.

Korean company representatives generally tend to minimize distribution channels and processes, while expecting maximum results. Also, they always want things to proceed quickly, while Japanese companies place importance on procedures, so there are often discrepancies between the two in many aspects.

From a marketing perspective, in case 1 above, the quality of the product is excellent, but there is often no awareness of marketing at all, and in case 2 above, the marketing and promotion is excellent, but the company often changes its mind depending on the wishes of the investor (fund).

In addition, in the above case 3, there are often insufficient capital for marketing. Japanese companies often find it difficult to deal with the various cases mentioned above.
